is my civic an ek2 or ek3? help

i have a 1997 honda civic 1.4i, 3 door, hatchback. is it ek2 or ek3? or something else?

I believe that the ek2 has a 1.3 engine, so yours would be an ek3.

Its more likely ek4 - i've only ever heard of the EK4 and EK9 mentioned by the Honda geeks at past cruises

I am near sure yours is an EJ9..I know its not a ek4 - thats the VTI with the b16a2 'proper' vtec engine in it.

100% EJ9 as used to own 1. Being a 97 reg tho it prob has the 75BHP engine and not the 90BHP which was in the 99 reg facelifted. If you let me know your engine code I will let you know.
