Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by "under posting rules"?

Have you tried clicking "go advanced" and using the paper clip?

Posting rules on the bottom left of the screen, which is expandable. The paperclip between the Smilie Dropdown and Undo icon is not there?

I understand now - not sure about what is causing this, I will have to look in to it.

Do you have 2 different user accounts by the way?

Unfortunately I ran out of disk space. So I had to buy some more and make a few changes, one of which is that I now ask non-supporters (ie those without a sticker or supporter status) to host their pictures on external sites.

Some examples are here: http://www.civinfo.com/forum/basic-t...t-picture.html

Out of pure nosiness, what sort of system is the Forum now hosted on ? ...

might be worth adding that as one of the extra benefits when becoming a supporter

It a big RAID 10 SSD LAMP server. But oddly it's more economical and faster to have 3 big forums on a monster server than it is to have 3 forums each on there own baby servers. So that's what we have.

Ok, I understand completely where you’re coming from so please don’t take this response the wrong way. Many people contribute to the forum helping other users by posting pictures/attachments. By restricting this you are effectively making the forum less of a useful resource for it users.

That said I will probably buy a sticker to support as I have been on the site for ages.

By becoming a supporter, you help Pottsy to host an awesome forum for everyone - so don't delay and become a supporter! Just the little contribution of a supporter fee is only fair for the wealth of knowledge and guidance you receive! Fair enough you give to the forum but you'll get so much more out of it than any one person can give alone.

+1 ...

And just to remind all non-Supporters, it costs money to host this Forum - server space and bandwith - with a specialist service company ...

The only income the Forum has, is some advertising fees, and the one-off payments from the Supporters ...

Personally, I think that all regular users are morally obliged to cough up ! - but, it's absolutely up to the individual - nobody is compelled to pay, while many other Forums demand a fee just to enter and see if it's any good (or not !) ...

Anyone can still post pics, they just need to be hosted elsewhere.
