Front bumper removal

Had a unavoidable and unfortunate encounter with a pheasant which broke the bracket holding the front nearside round spot light (more unfortunate for the pheasant). Luckily the rest of the bumper and grill are fine, just the spot itself is rolling loose within the assembly.

Here's a stock google image as a reminder:

Main dealer is quoting 350 just for the part, so I'm looking to see how I can remove fastenings to gain access and repair. Anyone done this? Is it a fastening nightmare or relatively straightforward to either drop the lower bumper or wheel arch to gain access?

Many thanks

Bumper and fender trouble

Hi,

I would like to ask you for the same thing, if possible? I live and work in Belgium, but being paid by Eastern European "company", meaning I don't have the money to go to an authorized service center here. They would ask a sheetload of money. Anyway, I broke assembly parts to my front bumper on the left side, near the headlights (I will buy that piece), and damaged the fittings of the under-fender and side fender protector, or what that black plastic thing is called. I guess I need to remove the bumper to put it back properly and by removing it I could get access to the fender assembly as well.

You would really help me with your bumper removal instruction!

Thank you

Adrian

Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread. I noticed from this old post you have @jamesmac kelvie instructions for 9g front bumper removal? Would it be possible to send me the info? I have had a small collision with a hedge in the wife's car and a new painted bumper is cheaper than getting it repainted so looking to see how difficult it is to change. Thanks chris

I 've seen a few requests for this-- is it worth posting the instructions in the 'How To' section.

Apologies if it's not allowed under the forum rules.

Possible misunderstanding here-- I haven't got the instructions, I was hoping someone who has would post them.
I don't need the instructions at the moment, but if I do sometime in the future , the 'How To' section would be a good place to look.
