Door sill protectors

I have now had my Civic Sport for over 6 months, so as I've just had a birthday I want to buy some sill protectors.
As the car is Orchid White I am thinking of the Honda ones as I think they may look better. The other sorts which I have seen on e-bay are a lot squarer, and I don't want too much shiny steel ( although this sort looked OK on my old red Jazz).
So anyone got the genuine Honda sill protectors , on a white car, any pics ?
Also, do you consider them worth the money ?

Thanks Bacu-- just had a look at your gallery, just the pictures I was looking for.

Having looked at the rest of your car pics I'm very impressed-- lots of shiny black bits to set the car off nicely.

My biggest problem is that the more I see, the more I want !

I've just seen these on ebay, so it's choosing between these and the Honda ones

Thumbs up

a bit overpriced but look good when fitted. add a bit of bling but not over the top. i was happy with the price as the dealer knocked a few euro off the price as i bought mud flaps at the same time a few days after buying the car. if you want more pictures just ask.

genuine Honda .....

I have the illuminated sills and yes they do look nice but I am not sure I would buy these again over the non illuminated due to the higher price

Thanks for the replies:

Rick, I wasn't thinking of the illuminated ones, as they are an incredible amount of money !

Pump, on your pictures I can see the Honda ones do look just right against the white, not too blingey, and cover more than the Polish ones pictured on my previous reply.

So it looks like Cox will be getting my business again- I've only just fitted the mudflaps I bought from them !

Thanks for your help.

Thanks pump.
This is my local dealer Honda Civic Doorstep Garnishes 2012- - 08F05-TV0-610
The sill protectors are about 5 more expensive than Cox, and that's before the Civinfo discount . + free next day tracked delivery. I have been very impressed with Cox service on the 2 occasions I have used them.
I won't get them until next month so it gives me a bit of time, but at the moment all the obvious alternatives including ebay are more expensive than Cox.

I just bought this one. Considerably cheaper than the Honda ones. No entirely sure how the fit will be though as it suggests they fit both 2006 and 2015. I know Honda sell different styles for the two models so am thinking there may be a difference in the sills themselves. I will see how they are and report back.

they look good... i know the illuminated ones are crazy money but i still quite fancy them... hoping to get them in the next six months... im wondering if 9g civic accessories will come down in price with the 10g coming out? im spending a small fortune on bits and bobs.. that probably wont get me any money if i trade down the line.. .

I've always hoped that prices would go down but they never have for the cars I've owned which makes you wonder how much they miss out on. For example my previous car sold for 1600, the seats started showing wear and Mercedes wanted 350 for a small lower half seat cover. It is just not in keeping with depreciation. They must have countless numbers stacked up not going anywhere.

I find with the CRZ genuine Honda parts are around 30% cheaper with the import tax from the states. I ordered the illuminated sills from the states at just under 170 all in with import tax but this was around 9 months ago when the was stronger but a hell of a lot better than the 290 from Cox.

I found from the states they were around 10 cheaper than a Honda dealer in Europe who was also selling these so if your after a deal I would find the Honda dealer in Europe that does good prices on ebay and message them to see what they can do.

For example COX http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/genui...ish-p-539.html

Ebay in the states http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2016-Honda...i:371717953019

Is that eBay one a genuine sill? Can't find anywhere where it states that it is.

Yes it is and it completely in oem packing complete with oem rubbish fitting guide. Got to be honest and say we are rip off Britain for genuine parts on a lot of things. Look at the sellers items and you will know he is clearly a Honda dealer
