removing air vent trim - Civinfo

removing air vent trim

can you remove the silver trim and is it easily done?

turns out you can... entire vent pops out of the dash (can push it out from behind the glovebox, maybe even pull it out topside with trim tools), a few clips and apart it comes; silver ring easily obtained.




and the reason for asking - film now applied. dont think i like the contrast so will likely go with some frosted chrome red film to match the red glovebox top trim thats red on the typeR :

as i had a suspicion on, the 3M vinyl is stretched too much and it's coming unstuck even after re-heating it.

i'm surprised it's coped as well as it has but wrapping the bits like i did, don't work.
it was one of those bored sunday afternoon experimental jobs.
