Wouldn't mind charging mine but at the price it costs, it works out cheaper to go R.

It will be interesting to see what TDi can do with the new R when it's out as the fact it's turbo means there should be some cheap horses to release.

As for Type S, if they ever get the kit down to around 1K, call me!

Why does anyone mod their car, To be different and to have the fun of modding.

I'm sure that if Ash was to buy a Type R he would spend just as much modding that.

Then people would still say why not buy something else instead.

I would love to turbo mine as it would be funny to see a 5 door fly past a type R

R18 Type-S development (Turbo video on post 1)

Just spotted this and wondering if it's worth buying and getting another remap, some of the U.S. Guys have said the cars are good for 300bhp without any internals work.

http://www.procivic.com/pages-produc...026/index.html

The funny thing is I think I've glazed my clutch/flywheel, apparently the Kevlar clutches can be easy to glaze. And now my car judders when pulling away the guys in America recommended that I go back for the standard clutch as they've been running theirs for ages, one is running 300 bhp with the standard clutch and he has done for around 75k miles looks like I'm going back to standard at some point.

Anyway back to the intake manifold, they claim a big benefit for turbo'd cars

US bhp is different to the UK. Ever wondered how an 1500bhp civic in the US is making passes only a half second quicker than an 900bhp civic in the UK? Ask about DJcorrection when you speak to tdi... Their 300bhp cars in the US are probably 260bhp cars in the UK.

Oh ok, still roughly the same as mine anyway if 300 = 260... I will give the standard one a chance.
Any thoughts on the intake manifold

Our manifold is plastic and the limitation is the pressure aplied by the turbo application.

Most probably above 0.8-1bar it will crack.

Sure is better than the stock one, but I believe that you will not see improvement that will justify the cost. But if you are going for forged internal this is a must.

I'm sure you could get a friend to time it in the car with you! I'd love to know how close you get to 5seconds

My OBD scanner can time it, obviously it wont be very accurate but might give a good idea. I will wait for some dry weather and clear roads and give it a go

Literally been reading this thread since 9 am this morning whilst I've been in work.

Like to say amazing work and would love to do something similar to my 5 door civic. However I've also been thinking of doing a k20 conversion or buying a damaged type r to swap over if that's possible as I can imagine it would be cheaper.

Turbo would be fantastic but just a lot of money for me. However I can't give you and tdi north enough credit for what you have achieved and plan to achieve.

Would love a 5 door k20 though haha. 😎
