Mugen Euro Baffled sumps exclusive to TDi

I now have 2 prototype baffled sump solutions available for the for the FN2 that retain the level sensor that I will be testing shorty.

The first option is for the OEM oil pump, the second is for the cars that have had the FD2/Toda oil pump conversions.

The sumps are £349.99+vat for the OEM type and £399.99+vat for the uprated oil pump.

The plan is that upon successfull completion of the tests they will go into production next year and come probably laser etched to identify them.

The standard one will be going on my car hopefully next week then a few weeks later the engines coming out and will test the other with the oil pump conversion kit.

Mugen are ready to produce these in the new year so you won't have to wait long

looking to get my cams and clutch done with you at the end of march, before going on to Spa, do you reckon they'd be in production by then?

How does this compare to the toda one you already sell? Is the start of Mugen supplying performance upgrade parts? I'm confused as to why they would limit their market to just TDI or do you mean something else when you say Exclusive?

Itís an alternative to the Toda sump. We sell several types of manifold, intake kits, suspension upgrades and aren't limited to just any one suppliers. Mugen as well as Spoon have in the past supplied baffled sumps for the EP3/DC5 so it was only a matter of time.

The designs used in the 2 new ones have been proven on the rally cars but in the FD2 sumps which are slightly deeper so it was a case of transposing that learning onto the slightly smaller, with level sensor FN2 version.

And as for exclusivity, we work very closely with Mugen Euro and if you was to compare all the other MOP's you would find that our turnover is greater than the rest combined due to our close contact with the market being involved with and specialising in the Type-R brand for many years. At the moment, I have both designs for testing and will be selling them early next year. I am sure eventually you will get these elsewhere but knowing we do have the market share itís hardly "limiting" it.

Do you mean your turnover as TDI or the sales figures of Mugen parts? i.e. do you mean TDI outsell all the other MOPs put together or that your revenues outstrip even those of all the Honda dealers put together?

Either way that is a very impressive claim, and surprising if it is the former that Mugen would share revenue information about individual MOP performance with other MOPs.

Still that seemed a very defensive reply to my question, and you did well in not answering my question. So I'll ask it again, in simpler terms...

Are you stating we will only be able to buy this from TDI because you have exclusivity for selling this item?

5 original MOP's. Later a select few Honda dealers were added to resell a select range of aftermarket parts.
Consider those other MOP's. They dont have the same kind of end user contact that we do or in some cases even the experience to know what they are selling. We are flat out 6 days a week on Type-R's only so you get to see a lot of potential customers.

Here is us working in a Honda showroom fitting some parts to a brand new M200. I have lost count of how much I have supplied to Honda dealerships.

In answer to your question - At the moment they will only be available through TDi and upon our recommendation. I am taking on the install and testing of this part, along with several other parts and all the costs associated with it so if they ever are commercially released TDi would quite rightly expect some preferential deal.

Do you want one?

coming back to the topic... it seems to be a not very good quality welds.
In weldings has been used too much material.

Pics of the Toda:

Designed to help prevent oil from moving around under extreme conditions. Preventing drops in oil pressure and air from mixing with the oil.

-Extra service hole provided. For example : an additional oil temp sensor, etc. (1/8PT)
-TODA logo to show that this is not your STD oil pan.
-Please re-use the oil level sensor (New oil seal is provided).

If anyone wants to install the FD2 oil pump it will be better to install the FD2 Toda oil pan.

It is a prototype and done by hand so not quite as neat.

I would agree with the FD2 oil pan however it is deeper and sits quite a bit lower, plus it doesnt have the level sensor which is a function that many customers still want, and also why a lot of people stick to MAF tuning rather than MAP. Its about improving what you have and at the same time retaining a lot of the OEM features.
