that wouldn't be good news

having said that, if Audi are anything to go by, dlrs are often the last people to know...

Total and utter BS by your dealer I'm afraid (Who are they ?, I wanna call them and wind them up ).

This month's evo have an interview with the project leader. I think that Mr.Mikio Suzuki (Project leader for the new Type-R, clearly stated in the magazine) knows more about the car than your dealer.

There will be a "GT spec" which includes the glass roof and mutizone climate, but the chances of a super power "Type-RR" as some mags reported are very slim (The Type-R has 197bhp and no more, but has been designed to focus on "dynamics"). To quote Mr.Suzuki himself:-

Talking to evo, Suzuki explained why it's also unlikely that there will be an even more hyper version of the car. ‘Boosting power [currently 197bhp] would be a key aspect of that sort of car, but as the engine is already very efficient, we would have to change many, many other things. That would have implications for fuel consumption, and at Honda we’re proud of our green credentials,' he said.

In terms of ride and handling, Suzuki cites the fact that the Civic has done so much testing in Europe as helping to ‘mature’ the Type-R. He also says that the latest regular Civic provides a much better base to work from than the last model.

As an intriguing insight as to how Honda views the Type-R, Suzuki told us: ‘We wanted to keep the original philosophy of the Type R – it should be like driving a race car on the circuit. So instead of focusing on sheer power we looked at the higher-level dynamics, where every element needs to be outstanding and lead towards an exhilarating driving experience.’
According to current reports the production version looks exactly like the concept version with NO visual changes

Just cruelty on your part CivPilot to show one in white! As for there not being demand for an RR....Well, no one would buy the Type R if they knew an even hotter version was on the cards. Expect that in mid-2008 me thinks.

The front should fit (same shape after all) but its not plastic between the lights. Its a black Mesh grille.

hmmmm.....

TT wanders off to look for a similar pic of a NHB and PhotoShop...

cheers for that - does the mesh look good in the flesh?

Just dreaming at the moment, dunno if this will go anywhere or not LOL

PS - Just for info to anyone concerned, not looking to make a Type-R lookalike, but black lights on a NHB car - got to be worth considering...

Another one I cannot decide on... Does that look really cool, or like the lights and centre bit are missing

Do you know what, I think it would look better without front fogs! Anyone??

I've just been out for a run. I knocked 2 seconds off the 0-60 time. I'm keeping it like this.

Very menacing !! You'd move over on the motorways if you saw that in your rear view mirror ! (or not as the case may be if you were driving a Civic yourself as you wouldn't be able to tell what it was !!)

I like it !
