does anyone know ?
are the valve lifters on a type r hydrualic or are they adjustable!
i've noticed my engine is a little bit rattly when first started and don't want to book it in to the dealer if its just a case of oil pressure.
the cars only 7 months old with 5000k on it but the noise soon goes when the engines warm !

The followers are mechanical, hence why every 25k miles they adjust valve clearances on service

I assume you have checked the oil level, I would just pop in to a dealer to ask some questions just incase the engine has been over revved, you have nothing to lose!

I had that query with mine before my first service. Yes they are mechanical, there's no cam belt too, it's a chain.

The oil level has to be at the max level to keep the "rattles" to a minimum.

If you have run it in well it wont need much oil. I haven't topped mine up yet since the service at the end of july. I check it weekly but it still doesn't need it
