Anyone know the differences between the 07 and 08 mats?

Is it the whole thing or just the fixing arrangment?

This is a quote from the wiki.......

Type R gets new driver's footrest (and possibly rest of the range?), meaning older car mats no longer fit.

Hope that helps!

I believe there is a slight difference in the shape of the driver's footwell as well as the different anchor points.

Incidently I just ordered a set of rubber mats for my 08 MY Type-R and they supplied me a set with the metal anchor point and the holes in the wrong place for my car. Called local Honda parts dept and they reordered them using my reg and again they received a set with the wrong anchor points. According to the parts guy he has spoken to Honda accessories and they say that these are the ones for my car and they are obviously not as he explained to them why in that case are the premium mats between model years different, they are yet to get back to him.

It would seem IMO that they have not yet made rubber mats for the 08 MY yet or it is not cost effective as very few owners buy the rubber mats as the parts guy told me that I was the first person that they had ordered Type-R rubber mats for. Has anyone with a 08 MY got rubber mats with the correct anchor points? Going to take the mats back and get a refund if I don't have the proper ones by end of next week

Thanks DR but doesn't actually say if the anchor points are the correct ones as the parts guy at my local dealer ordered 08 MY rubber mats and twice received the ones with 07 MY anchor points

Just gonnae have to wait and see what they say next week.

Just been supplied with a set supposedly for an 08 Type R by Gordons Honda and they have sent me the mats that have the 07 mountings not at all happy with this

Anyone can see the difference between the mountings on 07 & 08 models

Surely even Honda can get something like floor mats right?? Maybe they are still selling the old mats as a cost cutting exercise to use up old stock.

Spoke to local Honda parts dept to see if they had heard anything back from Honda Accessories, but they hadn't, they did say that they had called round a number of other Honda parts depts and they had confirmed that only 07 MY rubber mats available for Type R.
Do Honda think we are gullible enough to just say "Ok the mats dont fit properly and the anchors are in the wrong place.... yes they'll do nicely" Well this chump isn't buying into that.

Taking my mats back today for a refund

The mats will fit but you have to remove the carpet mats and carpet anchors and then fit the new anchors and rubber mats. I have left the carpet mats in and used small bulldog clips in several places around the edge of the mats to fix them together. this method works very well and they are firmly fixed together no movement at all. during the summer months i then remove the clips and rubber mats and just use the carpet ones. just a thought if you really wanted the rubber mats without too much fuss.
