Splitters - which colour??

Hi guys

After getting the Rages a few weeks ago, my next major cosmetic mod will be the front & rear splitters. The only problem is I can't decide whether to go with the piano black centre sections, or have the splitters fully colour coded to match my Silver car.

I know that the black combination is a lot more common, and I've seen it in the flesh and it does look awesome. I just want to do something a little different. I'm probably 60:40 at the moment in favour of the Silver coding.

I've put a poll up. I won't necessarily go with the poll, but I just wanted to encourage a bit of discussion around this and ask anyone with some photos to post them up to help me decide!

To get things going, here are the only photos I have found of the silver splitters, alongside some photos of my friends black splitters.

So, what does everyone think?!!?

I would go for the black but the silver looks great in the pic. The wheels look great.

IMO black, the silver is not enough of a contrast and resembles the standard one too much.

Black all the way!

I prefer the contrast between the black and the silver.
I would go for the black.

I prefer subtlety, so I'd go Silver.

At the risk of sounding like a complete twit, I am unaware that the splitters are available in complete body colour, only body colour surround with the black lower section.

Ignore my previous post, I see the OP has mentioned getting them colour coded himself.

Hi there, no - I didn't mean this. I was under the impression that they were available direct from Honda fully colour coded. If you're telling me differently then I guess that makes the decision for me!!!!!

I like the silver at the front, but prefer black at the back!

(Sorry if I'm splitting hairs!)

I've never seen a listing for the splitters in full body colour. I suggest you ask the owner of the car in that picture to see how he obtained his. If they are available then I'd like to investigate further but I think you'll find he's had them painted himself.

There was a long thread on the Civic Type R forum, and lots of people were adamant that they were available fully colour coded. In fact, I spoke to Holdcroft Honda about these in person and unless we were speaking at cross wires, they are definitely available!

Is there anything quick you can do at Honda to run a check on this? If not, I'll investigate further as best I can!

Many Thanks in advance if you can provide any clarity on this.

Id say silver, i have always liked everything colour coded in the same. In fact if honda do sell them in silver i may even be tempted myself.

What ever you choose it will look smart.

The HUK line would be quite simple I think, in line with all the accessory listings I have seen there are no full coloured splitters available. The only way I see these being available is if they are an option in alternative markets. I think the easiest way to find out is to find someone on either this site or others that has actually purchased some, if there is anybody.

I'd definitely keep them black - I personally don't like the lack of contrast when colour coded, especially not the rear end, looks worse than the standard without the black.
