Question Type R Delivery Dates..

Hi,

I pre-ordered the new CTR back in March 06 -I was expecting delivery for around the 1st March(surely I ordered early enough?)

Spoke to my dealer last week - it's showing on their system as delivery around the 31st March.. (Apparently there is a delay @ Honda !?!?!?)

What dates have you been told/promised by your dealer?

I think that colour/spec might have an impact.

So here goes..

Type R Gt - Milano Red + SatNav + HFT. - 31st March

Nice choice blzb0b! I think theres currently a delay with all new Civics been built although from what I've read production of the CTR is well underway and as far as I know they have cars ready for delivery, Perhaps you will get lucky, as you say you did order a long time ago, bound to be right at the front of the queue!

Same spec as yours and was told 1st March too.

I haven't had an update for a couple of weeks now so I had hoped they'd make that date.

Here's hoping!

I might be adding 2 and 2 together here, and getting 27...

But - my sports suspension, which may or may not be the same as the suspension fitted to either the Type S or the Type R, has been put back to 'sometime in April'

problems with homologation / TUV / lack of parts, depending on who you ask

fingers crossed for you that I'm guessing wrong - it is only a guess

Welcome to the forums Mark..

I got an update last week of 25th March..... it's dragging now - am paranoid that something expensive is gonna break on my "old" (2.5yr old) Renault Migraine just before I trade it in...

Think i need to chase HUK.. find out why I'm so far down the pecking order.. might just be number of deliveries to this area....

My dealer doesn't get his demo car till next week... which reinforces the above if your dealer already has one !.

I was thinking of the 19" alloys but stuck for the standard 18's looks like this could be the best bet for an early delivery

Just had a call from my dealer and my car has been brought forward to the 5th March.

Honda UK confirmed the car is now built and it's just down to logistics getting the car to the garage.

It might even be there for the 1st but he can't guarantee.

Spoke to my dealer yesterday and there is a problem with the 19" rage alloys. Honda do not actually have any.

While I was there the manager phoned Honda (on loud speaker) to explain the situation.

Honda can not take any orders for Type R's with the 19" Rage alloys until the 5th March (at the earliest), as they do not have any 19"s availible at this time. Honda are going to keep so many cars aside so that when they do recieve the 19"s they can be fitted and delivered asap. They said I will recieve my car in the 3rd or 4th week in March (I hope!)

In the mean time the manager said he is going to phone every day to find out whats happening.

Frosty

slightly different situation, but...

Back when I ordered my Civic (5 door), I snuck in the order on what appeared to be the one week where there was an option box to tick for 'sports suspension' - so I did As you would
(even though we still don't know quite what 'sports suspension' is actually going to be )

anyway. Comes to a couple of weeks prior to delivery (August), and the kit is not available, but 'would be in about a month' (ha! it still isn't - long story)

In the end, after a few phone calls, they delivered the car to me with normal suspension, and will be fitting the sports pack when (if ) it ever appears.

Obviously by then my normal suspension won't be much good to anyone...

So - might be worth you having a bit of a jump up and down, and see if they will let you have the car with normal wheels on until the blades are available?

Unless they can give you written cast iron (or alloy ) guarantee that they will be available by whatever date.

hope that makes sense, and helps

One of my friends living in Kent said that his local stealer has an allocation of 5-6 cars and has sold 3 of them already!

If that continues nationwide it looks like the roads are going to be crowded on March 1st!

My Type R has been put back again - now the 1st April.

The only plus is it gives me extra time to empty my garage in readiness. There is a half built car sat in it at the moment.

I ordered my Type R GT in Red yesterday and delivery is showing 30th April.

I think any factory fit options ie Sat Nav will slow orders down.

Due to my deal the car has to be registered in March, so I'm hoping it will keep my order on time.

Just got back from the dealers and im not a happy bunny.

Pre ordered early Feb, Delivery date has now been put back (again) to the 20th May. Its being blamed on the 19" Rage alloys. Got some money off though.

Type R, Red, Sat Nav.

I ordered mine on the 22nd Feb, and my delivery date is now the 22nd of April. Which is a sunday ?!

My dealer has "asked" for it to be delivered on the 16th April which is the original date, but I suspect that is bull***** tbh

Mine ordered 6th March, expected 20th March...

I had hoped it be delayed closer to April purely for insurance savings...
