MOT time

Car has been booked in for this Saturday. Been thinking about my mods, would I need to reinstate the back seats? Also my c pillar brace bolts onto the same place as the rear belts. An issue?

You should be fine unless you get a particularly awkward tester- a car with seats but no seatbelts will fail, but one with seatbelts and no seats shouldn't. If the rear seatbelts have gone as well then they can't test something that's not there.

Found this on gov.uk in a help area for MoT testers- I would think it applies in the case of your car:

Where a vehicle has been extensively modified or converted, Reasons for Rejection for components missing where fitted as standard should not be applied. For example:

a car converted for rally use (i.e. rear seats removed and fitted with a roll cage and full harness seat belts etc.) may have been converted so as not to require a brake servo or power steering
a car converted to a stretch limousine may no longer be fitted with curtain airbags

Itís also worth pointing out that Section 6.2 of the Manual on Seats and Doors, already contains a note in the Information Column which states: "Original design characteristics and specialised modifications (e.g. to enable wheelchair access) are to be accepted".

Ta. I'll report back on Saturday, I can't be bothered to put the seats back in, the belts are in so they can check them.

I'm gonna ask the mot testers about headers and sports cats and see what they say. I have a list of things in my head to do...... relocate battery, sort out subframe, fit other mount inserts, header, sell carbon fin, bonnet, airbox and crazy scoop (should help fund the header work). I have tax and insurance coming up, new brakes and tyres in the near future and a summer holiday to sort.
