2 Weeks driving.

Well i've now been driving the civic for about 2 weeks and i have picked up a few things.

The shocks had been changed and overall its so much better to drive now just have a couple of little issues now. When driving the third gear can be a bit notchy and sometimes not engage properly and being a 10 plate car i thought it would not be the common 3rd gear problem so I will change the oil and adjust the clutch to see if that helps. I also get a horrible rattling noise at the rear of the car which i think will be the heat shield so that will be coming off soon.
The only other problem is a weird sound when changing gears in vtec, the only sound i can compare it with is a little dump valve sound, any ideas what this could be ?.

Other than these issues it is a lovely drive. Just spent a few bob on all service oils, fluids and parts so hopefully in the next month or so it will be driving like new.

Is the car standard? Check the intake pipes for leaks/splits/clips not tight enough

I have bought all the items for the service and will take it to my dads garage to get it all done. I have a list below of what i have purchased so far and wondered what else should I get. Its the 75000 mark

Civic Type R Front Rear Brake Discs Dimpled Grooved Mintex Pads Honda FN2
Denso IK22 Spark Plugs
2 x 1 Litre Castrol React Performance Dot 4 Synthetic Brake Fluid DOT4
Castrol EDGE TITANIUM 0W-30 FST Synthetic Engine Oil 0W30 4 Litres
Genuine Honda MTF-3 Gearbox Oil - 3 Litres
JDM HONDA HAMP OIL FILTER SYNERGY SHORTIE
GENUINE HONDA SUMP PLUG WASHER RING 14MM

Im not sure if i should get a normal paper filter or if its worth getting a performance element, Also is it worth getting a new fuel sender unit ?

Not really pal, multiple items per ad can get tricky to keep track of.

However, if you already have a buyer, then pop it in and reply quickly

You've given yourself a decent todo list. I'd have also suggested gearbox oil and clutch adjustment for third gear especially on a 10 plate.

The rattle is likely the heatshield as it's very common, the vtec noise may be the same also as the exhaust resonates quite a bit on 'tec.

As above it may be intake related so check for split hoses

Yea thought as its at the 75k mark might as well get everything done at once. So will get the clutch adjusted to. I will have a look at the rear exhaust muffler then as it seems to give off a little bit of noise when knocked so maybe the insides could be on the way out.
The filter was cheap for 18, was on eBay from a honda shop who also brought the springs off me that i had for sale. All booked in for Friday, can't wait to feel how it drives with it all done. Especially the brakes.

Seems to be much better after the full service, I adjusted the clutch myself and only gave it half a turn and it now goes into gear with no problems. Also the whistling noise has stopped, no idea what they did to make it stop other than the service. The oil that was in it was very bad, thick and very black so maybe something to do with that ?

Don't know if its me or if something is wrong, still seem to have the odd problem with 3rd gear once every week or so. could be driving normally low revs slowly going and now and then changing to 3rd it feels like it goes in half way so i have to leave my foot on the clutch a little longer and push it in a bit more. I adjusted the clutch a little but not much has changed. it seems to happen only once or twice a week and when its a normal temp
