Recent experience @ TDI South and CPL

I have been experiencing heat soaking issues with my car which had the stock intake on.Don't think it was the Group N map which i was running since the car had the same problems before i bought flashpro.I thought it's time for some changes.
On Tuesday i have been to CPL Racing in Sheerness and i have had a CPL cold air intake installed instead of the standard intake, which also consisted of a good BMC panel filter.
After lurking around for a while i've found CPL's location and was welcomed with some tea and the car was brought in and Guy started working on it.
Apparently my battery had the leads on the wrong side(?) so i was made a 'custom' earthing so that everything would be fine. After couple of hours car was ready.I was offered the keys back after i payed, with no drivetest or even an engine startup from the guys.
Well, discovered on my own that my new intake sounds much louder in VTEC and it started growing on me.At low revs, especially when cold it causes vibrations due to the relocation of the battery probably. Will solve that using rubber at the mounts.

After the fitment the car felt it was down on power, like 30-40 hp.Fortunately i was already booked in a for a remap in the afternoon so i went to the guys @ TDI South in Thurrock.
After beeing welcomed as usual with tea and biscuits by Mark, Dennis started working on my car after a little chat with him.
Had some dyno runs(first time for my FN2) and was given a report about the before and after mapping performance. Made approx 182 whp after the fitment of the CPL CAI and 189,7 whp after the remap.
Guys took the car for a quick spin and said to me that everything is fine. Was eager to go and test the new setup, after beeing left with no money in the pockets that day .

After the remap, the throttle response seemed much improved and the loss of power was never felt again.Power is now more linear, and the VTEC window on my engine seems to be te best at 5000-5400 rpm.I'm very satisfied with this since i prefer cruising with no VTEC on the motorways, especially since i will be driving in Germany on my trip to Romania.
I think i have still experienced some heat soak, which was the main reason i opted to change my intake with a CAI, but the effect is reduced and after driving the car again at moderate speeds the car will recover itself quicker, and i started loving the sound more and more.Feels much better overall and even though the fuel consumption hasn't seem to improve at all the car feels more flexible and is eager to rev all the way to 8000-8200 rpm (+),with limit at 8600,as i wanted.Much louder now in VTEC and sounds like it has more grunt at lower revs, but still silent at low rpms which i much prefer.Don't think i will be doing any further engine mods.

Overall, even after spending approx 1300£ i'm satisfied with the end result.Thank you guys.

If anyone wants an OEM intake with an almost new BMC panel filter i will be selling mine.

Will post some photos from the day.

Alongside them, there was a Golf Mk1 GTI modified which i really liked, since the first car i ever drove was a mk1 Golf.Hope the owner doesn't mind me posting.

Decent result with just an intake. You should get zero heatsoak now...

Thanks Sonar
Yeah sometimes my fuel needle keeps going lower quick, dunno why 😄
I'm still experiencing problems though, still feels like I'm loosing power after a trashing. If I leave it to cool down for like 30 mins it flyes again.I'm trying to figure what else could be wrong with the car.I've got new ngk laser plugs, valve clearances done, fresh millers Nanodrive 5w40,hamp filter,Honda coolant, and only running vpower.Get no error codes either. Frustrating.
