Going back almost a decade ago I seem to recall some having success using some similar Merc struts that coped well with the extra weight of the R spoiler.

With the mugen spoiler the boot is definitely heavier so would this struts make a difference?

Yes. When I had the spoiler with oem struts it would just stay in position and had to be lifted. The Merc ones lift on their own. With oem spoiler the boot lifts rapidly

ML350 Merc ones. Easy enough job, stating the obvious but do them one at a time.

From memory the Merc ones are a smidge longer so you have to max the tailgate when fitting.

On second thoughts it's now struggling to open after just one day! Contacted seller for a refund and will get spares put back on.

Closing is fine but struggling to open when pressed

It's cold today right, so you can expect these rams to slow down some. In summer they work better and can easily slice your chin if you're not careful!

Will take your lead if they're struggling too much tho.
