Changeing strut, access

I need to change my front left strut, was wondering if I can carry out the change via the small access panel below the wiper blade or do I need to remove quite a few bits of plastic to get to the 3 bolts?

Easier to remove the plastic but can definitely be done through the access panel.

It's only a 10 minute job to get the plastic scuttle off. Gives loads more room then,
