On the downward movement of the lever, it's totally slack/kinking, and is no longer covered with the rubber boot.
I have heard from a few places that the cables can be a bit 'tetchy', but those complaints were more about rubber bushes. At this point, I'm just looking at something broken, and trying to find a better alternative.
At 62k miles, I'm expecting a few things on the car to start dying/wearing out. It's just the way it is, nothing lasts forever. Rear calipers will be replaced in the summer, along with discs and pads all-round. I was hoping to get my bike back on the road this year, but it looks like it's car time again. Oh well, a '91 Gixxer 1100 will always be a part-time toy, the car is way more important. I've been very kindly lent a 100k miles MG TF to see me through, but I have to admit, I'm not overly keen! I want my FN2 back!
