Gear gaitor rattle

Can anyone confirm if the black plastic piece inside the gear gaitor is supposed to rattle? Mine has 1 clip out of 4 broken so unsure if that is causing the rattle. I have zip tied it to stop it from moving down but it still rattles. So considering if I might need to buy a whole unit again since the single plastic isn't available.

Mine does this too. Haven't checked if any of the clips are broken though.

Then buying a new unit probably won't help. It is annoying as you can feel it shake going 2nd to 3rd usually.

Maybe someone with all the clips intact will weigh in just to be sure
