Will 235/40R18 rubber cause probs with 18x8.5" rims?

As title. When I come to change the tyres, will I be able to fit 235/40R18's on my 18x8.5" ET48 rims without catching? Maybe on the rears only?

Anyone tried this? Any help/info appreciated

I would have thought on the rear there would be no issues, as they're so far into the arches with the OEM wheels on.

Yeah I agree I think they'd be OK on the rear. Just wondered if anyone had tried it on the fronts. I would be a costly affair if I tried it and they didn't, though.

Just to reduce the gangsta lean on the sidewall, really. Not that there's an issue. In fact it rides slightly better like this. But I'm not sure if it's doing them any good. Just weighing up future options.

why not buy 2 for the rear but swap them over and try them on the front for a week or so before buying 2 more if all goes well? and then let us know
