Help

Had a decat pipe fitted and have had car mapped but engine smells-like it is running rich is this ok or should I take it back to tdi to get it checked out look forward to any advice

Brand new decat pipe ? A lot of new exhausts come with a film as such that burns off when the car is used, it could be that that you're smelling. Did TDI map it ? If so i very much doubt its running rich .

Might be the Primary O2 sensor.
Easy way to check is if you have a laptop or code reader plug into the OBD port and just have a look at the short term trim. (STR)
Give the car a ragging then sit at idle. It should go back and at idle read +/-5% ish and steady.
If its going 20%+ its 100% the O2 sensor.
