Today i had my new Civic ES 1.6 iDTEC delivered. Will be running it for 3 years on a Honda PCH lease.
Milano looks great; 'Aero' wheels suit the car well;
Engine revs well, good torque in normal mode; ECO mode fine for most situations; eco dash lights work well; clutch take-up good
MPG living up to expectations;
Gearbox shift quality great, like Fords of old; Cabin quality excellent (what you 'touch' feels great and well thought out);
Bluetooth works well with iPhone, streams calls and music seamlessly; easy setup; internet radio possible this way via phone/3G
Magic seats truly the work of genius; cabin lights and instrument graphics excellent
New keyfob design much better
Steering wheel leather quality excellent
i-mid works well
Reversing camera excellent with useful guidance graphics
Coming home lights useful addition (for me!)
Auto idle stop works seamlessly
Refinement not quite up to Golf/Focus standards
Ride improved but not up to Golf/Focus standards
DAB not standard across the range
Tuner can 'ignore' and scan through some stations (will look at the manual!)
Tyre sealant instead of spare - not entirely convinced
So far so good...only 50 miles gone but great car.
More character than a golf IMO and engine/gearbox a real winner.
Combination of great MPG, good torque/flexibility and improved chassis dynamics through weight saving work very well. Interior quality and design builds on 8th gen strengths. Did a brief ECO mode test earlier and would estimate a 2-3mpg difference but long runs planned for next week so will verify with a better test.
Hope the pictures can be seen OK!
