8x18 ET40 too much?

Hey,
I was planning on mounting 8x18 Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels on my FN2. Now, for this wheel, the German branch of Team Dynamics can only offer me the ET40 version with TUV approval (which I need here in Luxembourg) for my car. Is that too much? How would this affect the drivability of my car?
Thanks

Hi

Mine FN2 has Tomason 18 x 8,5 J ET 40. Friend of mine Marcin (mw1978) has also Tomason, the same size as mine. No problems at all mate .

Sweet.

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures (larger than the one in your avatar) of your car with the wheels on, would you?

For future refference you can easily fitt 19x9,5" ET40 in front and rear but this is both legal and illegal at the same time, atleast in Norway... since the rule states the wheels need to be behind the arches wich they are... but you are not allowed to change your wheel base with more than 15mm wich = 7,5 ET differnce compared to what your car is registerd with. mine FK3 is f.ex registered with ET 55 originally so i'm not allowed to use any ET beyond 47,5 but if someone didn't bother to check the papers they are still technickly legal since they are barely behind the arches... btw using 235/35/19 tiers still a nice comfortable ride but a bit noicy you can maybe fitt a bit wider tier in the back maybe a Et35 or just ET 40 with 255 tier but in front ET40 235 19x9,5 is absolute maximum! since the wheels are already poking outside but the tier pattern is still behind the flares if you want to go wider in the front you will either need too change you chamber or buy aftermarket fender flares

I've ordered some team dynamics and I was also worried about the offset with 8j.

18 x 8j et42 I went for which is supposed to be ideal (I also have some 7.5j et 35 17" which I fitted and they do look perfect and will sit very much like the 8j et42)

et40 you should be absolutely fine
