Winter alloys

Hi forum members

We have been looking for a while now at wheels to fit our 2016 Tourer. Mostly been looking at steel wheels to replace the ones i have for sale on this forum that no longer fit from our previous 8th gen.

But more recently looking at ebay listing im seeing older ALLOYS for the civic with the same offset of 45.

So am I right in thinking that older model civic alloys would fit ours and not the steel wheels

Thanks in advance.

I had 6.5"x16" et 55 on my 9g civic, from an 8g that fitted ok. Have you tried the steels on your tourer ?

Yeah i tried the steelies on the front. They caught on the caliper thats why its making me wonder if its just the steels that wont fit but alloys may.

Eg the link below is a single alloy from a 7th gen sport but is listed with the correct sizes for the tourer with a et 45 and 6.5 width

as long as the spec of the wheel is correct it'll fit

pcd, offset, width, centre bore

easiest would be to buy some 9th gen wheel though rather than worrying about getting something from an older car? it's not like 9th gen wheels are rare? !

That's the sort of thing I've been looking for tbh. It's just Dover is a stretch unless half that price. 👍

Quick update. With a big thank you to Jon_G for selling me his 9G alloys which are just the job. I have had my winter tyres purchased locally in Mansfield fitted. I went for the Falkon Eurowinter HS01 as they have had some good write up plus the cost came in quite reasonable. So now for a change quite looking forward to the white stuff to give them a try out and not having to keep the car parked while the white stuff descends.

If you've not driven in snow with proper tyres on before you'll be amazed at the difference - feels like driving with velcro on your wheels

Looking forward to it. The last time we couldn't get anywhere unless we put the snow socks on our 17" with the original Bridgestones on. More the safety aspects during the colder months
