Just fitted the Sports grill,I'm amazed at myself for being able to do it, never done anything like this before.I went for the £159 grill in the end because I like the fact that they colour code the grill surround.I've uploaded a photo into my album if you fancy a look.I'm very much looking forward to the colour coding next week, 2 weeks today I will just be picking the car up
Right the car is finally booked in for next week,it's goin to take a week to complete but luckily away for work so I'll have a hire car. It's also 100 miles from home but I've seen the before and after photos and everyone on here highly recommends them.I thought whilst it's being done I would also purchase a sports grill and get them to fit it.Im now in two minds which grill to get Cox Honda do a couple and I'm insure whether to get the Type S grill or the Type R replica grill?Difference in price to the standard sports grill is £99 but the Typr R replica is £159 but that would come silver rather than the chrome colour but then again people might think I'm just trying to look like a Type R
I've seen a few people regarding the colour coding of the body kit but they all seem to have concerns about it.They all say they're not confident the paint will hold to the body kit even if it is,primed, sanded, painted and lacquered, or the paint may flake off?I take it this hasn't happened to your colour coding?Looking through the forum I don't believe this has happened to anyone else either.I've just been to Pertwee and Back the Ford accident repair centre, literally round the corner from where I live but I'm expecting them to quote a high price, at least £600.All the other small independent garages locally are quoting £400, I clearly live in an expensive area.
Yeah I really want to do it.With it being silver, the grey body kit stands out quite a bit and as it is plastic has faded slightly in places. The money isn't an issue just finding someone that will do a good job, I'm pretty sure Honda themselves wouldn't do it?Do you know whether when yours was done the body kit was removed or remained on the car?I imagine it takes some time to complete to?Sorry to keep asking so many questions but thanks for all the help. Your Civic looks really good, the transformation just spraying the body kit and the addition of the sports grille makes such a difference.Bought my Civic as it is but has a Type R Spoiler, 18inch black wheels and the mirrors have been replaced from the original silver ones to black ones, to match the wheels and black glass roof I imagine
I'll give it a go soon enough, another question I see you've had the grey body kit sprayed the same colour as the car.How did that go? Obviously wasn't sure with it being plastic whether it would actually work.Looks far better and if you don't mind me asking how much did that cost you?I've been looking at getting it done but I'm very distrusting when it comes to leaving my car with people, bad experience with a previous paint job on another car
Good point. I'll have to modify the side skirts so you don't see the gap when I buy them. Hoping to have it all done in 3 months. Just bought my fn2 grill and am currently unemployed, so that'll keep me going until I've got another job.
