I'm due to purchase a Honda Civic 2007-2008 model.
I'm looking for a 1.8 petrol engine, but I'm confused with the mpg.
I drive normal and am coming from a seat Leon 1.9 diesel. Although I can appreciate it won't be as good on fuel, I really want the Honda experience.
I am running a2007 FK2 1.8 petroland the fuel economy is awful.
Although the display shows 35 to 40 MPG, the reality at the pump is around 25 to 28 MPG. :facepalm:
Driving-wise I take it very smoothly and do the school run.
So, any ideas on what I can do?

I have just purchased a honda civic 1.8 EX-iShift 2007(Hatchback-UK model), with 44k miles on the clock,
1) i have noticed that in the normal auto mode the gear shifts at/around 3.5-4 RPM , is it really normal ?? or on what RPM it should change the gear normally.

I have 2010 edition Honda Civic 1.8 with full automatic gearbox (not i-shift). I bought it in January 2011 and immediately I noticed high fuel consumtion, especially during city drive. In the city it goes around 15l (about 19mpg) and during the winter months it was even 18l (15.6mpg)...
i have a EK3 - 2000 Civic (D15Z4 Engine), Automatic. It has done 104,000 KM. I bought it about 3 months back.....
Changed the timing belt, tension, oil seals, filters, shocks, cleaned the injectors, tune up .. all from the Honda Agent. But it not doing great on fuel...
