Hi dear forum members,
I'm the owner of a 2010 Civic 2.2, it has around 80k miles, is serviced properly, and it runs very nicely.
Today I was checking the engine prior to a roadtrip, I noticed a small seepage (please see the attached pictures for the location and the seepage itself), I'm not...
I have a 2012 Honda Civic 9th Hatchback, 1.8 petrol engine. I have been driving with the oil level slightly above the low mark (so technically still in the safe zone) for a while and have been wanting to top up the oil, but haven't had the chance yet.
A few days ago I got the "Check...
Hi, I've got a 2009 Civic SE 2.2 i-CDTI. I've had it for a few years now and it has treated me well so far.
A couple of days ago, I noticed a rattling/ticking from under the bonnet, which then came with a smell that was almost like citronella or paraffin. possibly burning oil but doesn't smell...
Dear Honda forum!
I have a 9. Gen 1.8 petrol civic. I was taking it to a Honda garage and they always used 5W30 oil. I recently moved and took it to another Honda garage where they used 0W20. Castrol website recommends 0W30. Total confusion. If the car was running most of its time on 5W30 will...
Hi, not sure if I have put this in the right section so sorry if not.
I bought a 2006 civic recently, which the dealer took for an MOT on the day I was picking it up. It all passed fine, but the oil pressure switch was playing up. They gave me a new one, just didn't have time to fit it before I...
I own a 62 plate 2013 registered 1.6 diesel with full Honda service history.
As I drive 18K per year my service interval in about every 8 months or so. Just had a service at 74K and was told that the next service it is recommended to have the gearbox oil changed but the cost through Honda is...
Oil change is due soon for my 1.8 petrol 9 gen civic, now that I have reached 100K km, I was wondering which oil should I buy?
I would go for Castrol, but also open to your suggestions.
Living in Belgium, the climate more or less the same as in UK. So I would go for 5W30.
Hi guys, I own a 2007 2.2 i-CTDi Civic with 215.000 km's (=135.000 miles) on the clock.
I reach an average fuel consumption of 7.4 l/100km's (= 38 MPG), while driving city+highway.
A year ago, I had some troubles with my DPF (engine management light came on a few times, oil level rising etc)...
I know this is answered many times in the forums but really looking for a quick yes/no answer on this. I have some leftover oil/coolant from my petrol Focus and was wondering if it would be suitable for topping up my levels in the civic (2006 1.8)? If not I will buy a better brand replacement...

Have been reading through my paperwork and what not, and as I understood for my approved used car guarantee to last the full two years (2014-2016) I must get my car serviced at a Honda dealership.
Honda are telling me the small service is £155 and the large service is £250. (for a...
Was looking to service my car and realised that the Castrol Edge oil is being replaced by Castrol Edge Titanium.
I wasn't too sure about it, but found this and thought it would be useful to all.

Hi guys, last night I changed my oil to a 5w30 Castrol but when I finished the service I´ve noticed that on the back of the bottle it said ACEA C3 and to consult the car user manual when in doubt.
In the manual it said to use at least the minimum specs like Acea A2 and others but didn´t...
Hi fellow Civinfo-ers!
I did something daft today with my 2006 2.2 EX Civic, ran over a hidden kerb in a council car park (Bromsgrove, Worcestershire) and ruptured the oil sump it seems (oil everywhere!). Hopefully this is the only damage done as I turned the engine off immediately.
Amazon are running a 20% off engine oils promo until 21st July 2014. The code is OILS2014 .
I just picked up 5L of repsol 0w30 (Full Synth A5/B5) and 5 L of 5w30 (Full Synth C4) for 34 quid (for both). The respol Amazon store are also doing a limited quantity sale, their 0w30 is now...

Driving home up the M1, halfway through my 40mi journey home "CHECK OIL LEVEL" says the car.
"Eh?" thinks me, "you've been fully re-oiled with 0W30 last summer.. must be a squiffy sensor".
..pulled in at the services.. sure enough, was actually low. Engine bay...
