Hi all. I'm new here but need help with a problem we have with our Civic 1.7ctdi. When we first bought it in Oct 2011, the Engine Management light came on, and it wouldn't start for a few minutes, then started and got us home. We bought it at auction, it had come in from a main dealer.

Hubby changed oil, air, fuel filters, and also cam belt, and put in some fuel additive to clean through. The car runs perfectly in every way except that it stalls on idling. It drives fine, and fuel consumption is good. I bought a fault code reader, and it came up with code P1087. Does anyone know what this means please?

Almost 3 months later, and we still have the problem. Does anyone know what fault P1087 is on a Honda Civic please? Help!!!!!

After loking at some videos on YouTube, yesterday we tested it for vacuum leaks using a smoke detector - but couldn't find any leaks. We're completely stumped, and putting it into the main dealer is going to be so expensive, and we just don't want to do that at the moment.

Any help much appreciated :)
