My clutch has failed after 35000 miles. The actual friction material was in very good condition, meaning that the clutch was used correctly. What has broken was a piece of metal supporting a spring, see the photos.
At the beginning, the problem appeared as a metal noise when using the gear and the clutch. After some time, say a month, the gear stopped working, resulting in a difficulty in changing gear. At that point I bring the Civic to Honda dealer for repairing. The photos show what happened to the clutch (I took the photos myself during the repairing of my car).

Are there other people with the same problem? I know that here in Italy at least another person encoutered this issue. I'm supposing there are defective clutches in 2009-2010 Civics with the 1.4 petrol engine.
