I have now covered 1k miles in the M200 & thot it was about time i had my say, so here it goes....

starting from the outside...Wow, what a beautiful car, the more i look at it the prettier she gets!! only 2 beefs....the thin paint work & im not a big fan of the wheels

Interior, what can i say, its the same as any other type R, seats lock you in place, great drivers position although the drivers seat is a bit high. loads of room in the back & boot, dash layout is perfect for me, pedals, steering wheel & gear stick all work together to make you feel in total control of the car. find it awfully hard to reverse park & have already got a nick in my alloy & the blind spot is well totaly blind!!

Engine, well what can i say...i love it, i havent thrashed it yet but have taken it in to the vtech a few times although its hard to find a decent road to do it on, im still having to get used to the short ratio of the gears...im changing gear an awful lot in low revs if that makes sence? the power is smooth & linear all through the gears & available on tap providing you are in the correct gear...takes getting used to comming from a previous STI owner, i love the way i have to work the car hard to make it work...it seems the more i work it the more it wants to be thrashed....that engine note change is out of this world!! :police:

Handling, as good as it can be for a front wheel drive car with so much power, alot of understeer which i wasnt expecting due to the LSD & a bit twitchy out of the corners if worked hard....im not overly impressed but i wasnt expecting anything amazing. brakes are fine so far but havnt been tested really, ride is stiff & passngers in the back have commented on how harsh it is....i like it tho, they dont like it thay can walk :D

all in all im definetly a true fan of this car & it is a real head turner

is it worth the extra ££££?? yes i think it is! :popcorn:

i will write more when i take it over 2 Germany with me & introduce it to the Autobahn :ridinghorse:

Fast Road Set-Up or FRSU will help with the understeer if you are into modifying your cars.

It transforms the car, I cannot recommend it enough.

Civics do not come from the factory with the ability to adjust camber, so fitting camber bolts on the front and shims on the rear, the camber can be set up and when combined with the correct toe in/out settings, vastly improves grip and responsiveness.

The linear springs are not ideal for our bumpy roads either.
You need a set of progressive eibach springs.
Wont bounce around so much on bumpy corners and stay in contact with the road instead.

Get the FRS done mate, Pro grip through in bonnybridge can do it, thats where i got mine done. just buy the bolts from ABP£20 on special at the moment, it really eliminates the understeer, and you can corner with confidence.:D

may take you up on the offer for a closer look, would be after Xmas tho;)

Best 3 basic mods needed for the FN2 are the FRSU, Eibachs/progressive springs and brake upgrade (Pads, lines and fluid)....these bring it up to what the car should be like as standard, they are the weakest points of the standard car and some of the most important.

Definitely get the FRS done. I had it on my last CTR and it makes a huge difference. I'll be getting my M200 done soon.
Same for me. I had FRS done on my old CTR 2 years ago.
I really noticed the understeer straight away when i got my new CTR. I reckon the FRS with the LSD will make this one much better.

I used to hold my left foot over the brake pedal in my MK1 Focus RS. It didn't dive around the road on exiting a corner and once used to doing it I found it easier to control. Chris Harris inspired me with a video on Autocar. Be carefull if you try it... not easy to get used to.
I heel and toe all the time when on a b road. Vtec just sings at you when you are about to nail a corner. Everyone on this forum who has had the fast road set up gives it a good write up. Im gonna be getting it done after xmas.

Just what I was thinking... and you really need to look into the FRSU + springs really changes the car.

Very good review MarcGaulty. Hope your enjoying the M200.

I never had the FRSU on my old Fn2. But my friend had a CW Fn2 with the FRSU and that was amazing with the LSD. It felt like it was on Rails! The back ends on STI's and EVO's kicked out while the CW hang on threw tight bends!

The only thing that disappointed me about my 2 Ep3's and my Fn2 was the Brakes! IMO They just wasn't up to the job for a 200BHP Hot Hatch. They should of had the Brembo's from the JDM Type R's as standard.

How much is it for the Eibach springs including fitting?
As you will have seen on our November / December offer sheet, we have the Eibach springs and Eibach camber adjusters on there at a cracking price.

This means we can lower your Civic with these Eibach springs then set the front & rear geometry to our fast road specification for £479.00 inc vat.

Or we can fit these Eibach springs and set the front geometry only to abp fast road specification for £405.00 inc vat.

Or i can supply you with the Eibach springs, Front camber adjusters and the fast road spec sheet for £145.00 inc vat. (not fitted)

Thanks for the update but after the looking at the pics I don't think I'm that keen on having the car any lower.
Give it good think as the springs and FRS transform the car.
The handling is razor sharp, much better on uneven surfaces. You may want to consider a 15mm drop if you find 30mm too low.
A member on the forum (Loxy) has had these installed recently. There should be some pics in the modifications section afaik
