my 2010 (60) car is coming up for its second service, so i decided to email a few dealers to find out how much it would cost. so far i have had one reply, from the main dealer in Swindon. they want £388.11. this sounds a little steep to me, what do you guys think??

Blimey that does seem a little steep. I was in my local dealers yesterday and glanced at the service prices as they had a board with them all on. I don't recall any of them being that pricey, even a full on top of the range major service. It's not even as though anything major gets done at the 2 year point either, should just be filters, oil and inspection etc. I'd get on the phone and have a shop around.

Do the air/oil and fuel filter yourself. Get the oem parts online and keep the receipts as proof of service.

Sadly i'm not any good at car maintenance myself. i've managed to get my local Honda dealer in Chippenham to match a dealer a few miles down the road and do it for £177.60 including vat if i supply the service kit and oil. And at the bottom of the page on the site i will order from is this forums logo :D

thanks for your advice on this matter.

Just noticed yours is a 2010 so still under warranty, so you have to get it done by a dealer or it will void the warranty.
There is lots of info on here for servicing yourself it not hard if you have the tools, you just have to have a go.

I don't think that is correct ? - I believe than any accreditated garage \ workshop can do it, just long as they use Honda \ OEM parts (or better), and stamp the service handbook ...

Having said that, I've used the original Dealer for everything other than simple stuff (like oil changes) - that way, they can't try to wriggle out of any issues, by saying "the other folk did something wrong" ...
