Just traded in the trusty Type-S GT 2.2 in. She was the best car I've owned and have had a very enjoyable 4 years with her.

New car is a nice Black 2.2 ES with Dynamic pack thrown in to sweeten the deal. Should have it in 2 weeks. May she be as good as the Type-S :D

Well done... You will love it :)

I went from a 2009 1.8 and at first thought it was slower, but soo realiased its not, just the slightly different gearing, better suspension and much quieter cabin making it feel that way :)

that'll teach me to post a message like that. Just got a call that there is something wrong with the airbag and they will have to order and replace a part - that means Monday or Tuesday :(

I guess I should be happy that they found it before delivery... but gutted I wont get it today or tomorrow.

Frustrating, but reassuring to know they are probably doing a proper thorough, PDI.
It will be worth the wait. I'm thoroughly enjoying mine and well impressed with the overall level of improvement.

Bah... Looking like next Monday now for delivery. They say they might have it ready for thursday or friday but I'm working nights until sunday morning and can't pick it up. Ah well :(

Right... getting a little more than frustrated with this now. Latest update is that they have ordered a replacement wiring loom that should arrive next Tuesday (12th March) and its a 2 day job to fit. Car should be ready next friday (week today) but of course my work commitments mean it will be Monday (17th) before I can pick it up.

Should I be worried that I've had so many problems and not even picked the car up yet? I hope not. I know I will be listening very carefully for any creaks or rattles due to them not putting everything back properly.

A replacement wiring loom!

Goodness me! I would have thought this would be one of the first things added to the shell of the car after painting. Must be a smaller one with something to do with the airbag?

Far from an expert on putting the components together, but I must admit, I think this would concern me.

Ask them to fully explain why it requires a new loom, and what exactly they have to do to fit it. Reassurance !

Finally picked it up yesterday and already loving it. The ride in particular is lovely, and I think it's power delivery is much smoother too.

Smeepers.

So pleased you've collected it and are happy so far. Am approaching 5000 miles with mine now and I must admit, it really is a top car.

What did they say about the wiring loom. Did they have to replace it as you mentioned earlier?

Enjoy and don't forget some pics.

Righty.. so during the pre delivery inspection, the found that the airbag warning light was coming on intermittently. They replaced the airbag and it did the same. They diagnosed it as a connection shorting out but couldn't pinpoint where it was so they replaced the whole loom.

I didn't use the radio for the first 50 miles or so cause I wanted to be sure there were no rattles, but thankfully there aren't. I thought my old Type S was a nice car, but the new 2.2 ES is better in almost every way.

I guess I'm still in the honeymoon period but I'm loving everything about it so far.

glad to hear you are enjoying it and more so (from my point of view) to hear a customer happy with a dealership sorting a problem out with a pre-emptive strike rather than leaving it and getting it back in time and time again.

Enjoy the car
