Hi :)

I've just bought a second hand 2004 Civic and noticed when test driving it that the steering was a bit odd. However, the Jazz I tried out seemed to have similar steering and the salesman said it was because it was electric steering.

What's the problem? Well, perhaps you all know this, but it feels like there's resistance on the wheel, so that the steering doesn't flow freely but kind of jerky to 'get the steering wheel moving' initially. I thought I could get used to this oddity, but frankly after only 4 days, it's making me not want to drive the car. :(

It doesn't seem dangerous or anything like that, it just makes driving a pain in the arse because it's jerky and occasionally I've over-steered due to getting over the initial resistance when turning.

Do I need to have this looked at by the (Honda) garage I bought it from? Or do I just have to suck it up and get on with it?

I look forward to hearing from you kind people.

Maxie. xx
