Having owned (and neglected) the car for 18 years, I decided that I would get my MR2 refreshed. It went from this:-

With the addition of a 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 lump :-

to :-

Not a bad little upgrade. 1.6L 122bhp -> 3.5L 325bhp.

Excellent work!! Looks very smart and modern given how much of a retro car it is.

Something therapeutic about restoring old cars. I bet with that engine it eats rear tyres now? lol

It tends to be a dry-weather only car as 325bhp in such a light car with no driving aids such a PAS, ABS, stability control etc could make it quite fun in wet conditions. It does have LSD though :)

Rear rubber currently at 225/40/16 as there was no European stock of 245/35/16 that I want to run. That said, the 225s are only £50 a corner where the 245s are £130 a corner, so I don't mind wearing them out too much.

Stunning job :). Always loved the series 1 Mr2 and with that much grunt it must be an utter hoot to drive
