Hi Chris,

"Valve clearances checked"

what does this entail ?
Hi,

Checking the valve clearences is pretty much as it says. We remove the rocker cover and measure the cleanrences, using a feeler gauge on both inlet and exhaust valves.

We would then adjust any which were outside the required measurements.

Hi,

Honda have the coolant change down to be carried out at 125k miles, or 10 years.

It is a longife, red coolant and so doesn't need to be replaced regularly.

Long life coolant we keep @ £4.50 per litre. A total for flushing the system, and replacing the coolant with new would be £71.50 inc VAT.

Hope this helps,

Rich

5th service is only minor, at £112.90 which includes changing engine oil and filter and a complete check over and report. Valve clearance check and adjust is, like you said, £55.00 and an MOT just £45.00.

A total cost would be £212.90 inc VAT. Obviously we'd need the car ideally the night before, to let everything cool down before doing the valve clearances the following day.

Do you want to give me a call to book in, or let me know what day is best for you?

Sorry you were in a rush for the quote.

From what you mentioned, you'd be best doing a major service which covers everything, gear oil and plugs included as well as engine oil, air filter and brake fluid. We do it to Honda spec, including full vehicle check at £360.40 inc VAT.

I think you mentioned valve clearances, which need to be done on a cold engine. That's £60.00 for check and adjust.

Again, apologies for not being able to reply as quick as needed.

10 year service is 216.40 inc VAT, comprising of engine oil and filter change, air filter and coolant change.

Gear oil would be £55.00 inc VAT, using the Honda MTF fluid. Brakefluid would be £43.00 inc VAT.

We would check the coolant strength and brakefluid moisture content before changing them as they may well be perfectly adequate with the low mielage on the car.

Let me know what you think.

Sounds good rich. Mine is not due till sept so will get it booked for August. Will be bringing my own oil if it makes a difference? Also is it worth getting a new air filter that doesn't require changing every year?

If you're using your own oil, it'll save you about £40.00 off the service price.

We keep in stock the k&n panel which only requires cleaning every couple of years, that's £45.00 inc VAT. Slightly better flow and million mile warranty.

We also keep the HKS RSK which is a full intake kit, which gives good gains on cam and sounds great. That's £349.00 inc VAT.

Let me know when you're ready and we'll get it sorted.

Sounds marvellous rich. Will be in touch. If getting valve clearances done the car needs to be cold and I'll be travelling from reading. Is there anyway round this

It is best to leave it with us the night before, but if that's not possible, it would be with us for the day. First thing to do the service etc and then valve clearances towards end of the day when the engine is properly cold.

There isn't any other way of doing it unfortunately.
