Hi all,

I just want to clarify this is expected before I ask a garage to read my car.

A few weeks ago my ABS / VSC lights came on and haven't gone away. I thought I'd do a full service on my brakes, pads, discs and bleed them to see if that helps, sadly no joy. I did a visual inspection of the ABS sensors and used a wire brush on the hubs to clear surface corrosion but again, that didn't solve the issue. It does brake a lot better again on the flip side!

I just read the foil trick to read DTC errors. Mine came back with none (DTC NO). Despite the warning lights still being on, was I wrong to expect to see an error code come up?

Is it still worth me asking a garage to read the diagnostics port?

Thanks

Will

Get your garage to do a reading from a proper diagnostic machine. You'll probably find it needs a ABS sensor as one may have gone due to it being corroded.

ABS errors don't usually show up on the DTC trick

Thanks for the clarification. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't t going to waste £20 having it read.

Will it pinpoint which sensor has gone?
