Had a good quote from these, just wondering if they are any good? Was let down by the guy who took my details, then some else sorts it out, so put me off abit.

Hi mate,

Iv been with admiral for almost 4 years now. Never had any problems with them. They were a bit slack once in taking details but i got an apology and they didnt charge me for the change i made because i had to chase it up.

Keep in mind they only allow up to 5 modifications but if you declare one thing in the interior then thats your whole interior classed as modified so you can add as much as you want and not tell them. They are pretty reasonable with mods too, iv never been charged more than 30 pounds for adding anything.

But yes i say go for it :)

ou for mods, as said above you are only allowed a few. More importantly to me they do NOT cover your mods, they wanted to charge me an additional £68 for a HKS and a Catback (they didn't ask about the cost of the mods or the effect performance wise on the car) on top of that they wanted £17.50 fee for making a change, then I read in the small print of the quote the mods are not cover they will return the car to factory.

I would recommend aviva if you only want a few mods.

Admiral were singled out by a paper at the weekend for being the most prolific company at selling data to 'ambulance chasers'.

Don't think I'll ever use them.

I'm with admiral. And can vouch for this.

Again, only real reason I'm with them is because they are by far the cheapest (by around 1.5K)

Used them for one year. Never had any problems. Once again, only used them as they were cheapest but only drawback was the additional costs when I added mods to the car.

I'm looking to supercharge my type-r within the next few months.

How would this count as a MOD? - It is on their list, however it doesn't quote a price straight away, you need to ring to refer.

Ring them and see what they say, will probably have something they can do. however with it being a big mod you might get cheaper insurance with a specialist

I was with Admiral, had a crash with them and they immediately referred me to their own claims management company, who in fairness were alright. My first year with them was pretty cheap, cheapest on the comparison sites, but when my renewal came it pretty much doubled, and I ended up going with someone who was cheaper by half (Bradford & Bingley).

Can't say I'd recommend Admiral, but I've got nothing particularly bad to say about them either. If they're the cheapest by a long shot then go for it.

Im with their sister company Bell. Swapped between the two. Though on my last car i had 7 mods declared. I had to pay extra, the most was £60 for my tints.
Admiral are also associated with Elephant, compare and diamond, so effectively they are all the same company if you get a quote from one of sister company's that is cheaper than the current one that current one will match the sister companies quote.

I wa with them for the past 8 years, every year they made up a renewal, every year i made up a cheaper quote and got it discounted. This year it was £240 more expensive than the cheapest quote i had. Rang them up, the best they could do was knock off £30...neddless to say i changed!

Never really had to deal with them other than renewals etc, suppose you cant judge an insurance compnay on anything until you need them etc
