So I finally had my vehicle regassed by an AC Specialist and was working fine with all clutches spinning with excellent hold within pressure.. a few hours later it stopped.

On further inspection this morning the vehicle has a leak somewhere now as I tested the "L" pressure pipe. There was a small then gradual reduced hissing coming from it then stop.

The guy who regassed my vehicle was honest and helpful said it would cost £300 or so to fix it if it was the condensor and if that was the problem and most likely it. He also said I could purchase one online somewhere and do it myself if I had the ability or find a garage as it would save on costs.

I have had a look at the condensor and noticed a patchy area that could be leak but need support to verify this... other than that everything else looks normal.

Note: patchy area on the center left of the condensor, and patchy area on the bottom plastic below the condesor

Would appreciate some help with anyone who has experience on this.

Condensor/driers can be easily swapped out yourself, just ensure that all the gas has gone first.

The leak could even be a cheap, dry/tired seal.

Where was the leak on the 'L' pipe?

Did the chap regas with a UV dye additive? If so, then a UV light should be able to track the source of the leak(s).

The gas is completely empty as far as pushing the pin down, I am not sure where exactly the leak is and it cost £40 for another call out so really im just trying to diagnose it myself. Yes he did it with a UV dye additive, I suppose the best bet is to get the shades and light myself and take it from there? I thought maybe the pictures would show some evidence as I dont have the equipment atm.

Good, then get a UV light/glasses and check for any leaks. The condensor and it's connections are typical starting points.

On the condensor any dark stains are suspect areas.

Thanks I ordered the UV light and ill follow to see where the leak is I hope its a O-Ring! Keep you posted Thanks Farqui! :smile3:

Mine was eventually detected just by spraying soapy water on all the joins and then seeing bubbles come from the driver's side lower connection on the condenser. Tiny rubber o ring replaced and jobs a goodun

I got my UV light and tested it tonight, unfortunately I could not find any specs of refrigerant. Where are the common places? I checked the hoses, the condenser, the clutch and the hoses. I might just take it to a garage and ask them to find it. When it was working the AC wasn't left on any longer then 10 minutes and then the vehicle was left off and alone for about 4 hours when I came back none in the tank! I am not sure if the dye had run through the entire system so maybe that is why the dye doesn't show? I am not entirely how the AC system works so do forgive me if that sounds silly.

If anyone can show any pictures on places to look as I am not entirely sure where all the hoses etc and connected to look for areas of interest, on and I checked the condenser joints. I did look at night with the bumper on in daytime bumper off and not sure if that effects the visibility of the dye.

Appreciate any advice! Need to get this sorted!

I am not sure if any gas is still available inside for the bubbles to appear? if you can show me areas of the hoses that is worth spraying I could do the same!

there not supposed to refill before doing pressure test
Thats a good point, as of now this is the second time I checked the tank slightly hissing with an abrupt stop. if there is any in there it would show but I need to know where exactly to spray this soap and a picture!

So this morning I checked the common area and it shows some of the uv dye, would you say this is definitely a leak? I even unbolted it and took some extra pictures. Should I put a new oring? If so so what size and should I get the garage guys to deal with it?

Thats the prob! Another bloke on the cliosport forum I'm on with an S2k had the same issue too

Thanks guys (guy who posted the similar issue) I told the guy about the problem and as soon as it was working that was that, when you look through the bumper grill there is also a piece of plastic you need to remove in order to see the connectors from where I have taken the picture of. I think it if that wasn't in the way he could has seen that. I used wechillanycar.com, when I called the guy he said it would of been another £60 for a call put charge and to fix the issue.

I thought the spray would be more obvious and more, I suppose a tiny bit of evidence like that in the picture is enough for a leak. I mean the tank was empty in approx 4 hours!

to be honest a decent ac technician should have found any leaks easily, my advice would be go somewhere better and get it checked properly
It was a call out for wechillanycar.com in regards to professionalism, it was fully working and he said there was no major leaks and it would pass as a successful service.

but he was wrong as it leaks and it stopped working a few hours later!!!
Yes well was working at the time and it held pressure at the time he done it. If it was to leak at the time he wouldnt charge me any extra as its on the spot but because I have to call out again it would be a charge. Well he didn't give me the impression it would be free ?
