Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help.

I have search the internet high and low for any similar problems, but to no avail!

I have a 2007 civic 2.2ex with a temperamental alarm. The siren hasn't made a sound for around 4years which I can live with as the alarm has a habit of randomly going off.

However I have noticed only in the last week that my alarm goes off much more frequently, it seems to be linked to the led alarm indicator on the dash, as when I switch the ignition off or on, the alarm led on the dashboard illuminates continually for around 5 seconds then goes out. It has not done this before in the 6 years I have had the car!

Does anyone have an idea of what the 5 second illumination means?
The alarm locks/unlocks as normal.

The led flashes as normal when the alarm is activated. All the doors lock, the boot locks and I have disconnected the bonnet switch as that always seems to be a problem.

Any help or advice will be gratefully received.

Thanks
Leonard

Annoying, do all your door and boot switches work and light the dome light?

Thanks for your quick response Farqui!
Yes, checked all switches on doors and boot, the lights dim when closed, all doors lock, the interior locks move, interior lights dim and go off with the alarm being activated.
I have even tried the fuel filler flap.
I am genuinely stumped!
