Ive just come home from a night shift and go to move my car and the key fob never worked, so I used the key in the door and the alarm gos off a couple times! Not what I want my neighbours to hear at this time in the morning.
From a quick search I see that this is normal.

But how close is everyone else having to be to the car for their key fob to work?
I've got 2 and with both I pretty much have to be stood next to the car within touching distance.
I also have to press the button a couple times for it to even work.

Maybe they both need new batteries or are they all like this?

I don't need to be that close to get my fobs to work, sounds like you need to replace the fob batteries.

Get good branded batteries as others have found lower priced bat's don't work too well/or at all.

One other thing I had to do was open up the key and clean the battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud. Made a hell of a difference.

Whilst waiting for the battery, don't forget 'the Clarkson experiment' - touch your head with the key.

True!!

New key fob battery now fitted and I don't have to stand right next to it to open and close anymore.

Thanks.
