had my 56 plate type r from new ( well had 2000miles on it as was ROWES HONDA's demo model )

had my fair share of problems with it but this final straw

its going !

why you ask

was parked outside office last friday, somebody came in and said your hazards flashing

went out and sure enough they were

now this is prob an oversite of 4 years on my part but not ever thought to check alarm or sound it so i walk back into office and have a look on here how to test alarm where i find a thread about a fault where alarm does not sound in the early civics Sh##!!!!

so go out and check yep no sounder but thought oh well out of warranty im not gonna fret over it

use car all weekend notice the red alarm light is on but as car drivable who cares i think !

lock car with fob on monday night walk out tuesday morning to go to work click button to open

NOW nothing hmmmm

stick key in door to open it opens stick key in to start car all hell breaks lose with hazards flashing etc etc

so end up takin misses car to work get home call out aa they spend while sratching chin pulling random fuses out calling *** then pull one out replace it then it blows the new fuse

then replace that again and hey presto all working but advise take to honda

so i do so today

they spend an hour and a half looking at it

come back and say right we have reset radio replace fuse but the alarm light is on and will be as the sounder battery drained if you want that done its 700, and the fuse might blow if it does replace it or come in and we will put a new fuse box in 400

we will charge you 78 for the pleasure of telling you this !

well thanks a bunch Honda

anyway thought i would have a rant on here !

If the car is over 4 yrs old the battery may need renewal and not hold a charge.
There have been a few cars where the wiring was simply not connected.

The main battery ( car starts first time ) or the alarm battery ? Thank you for reply

The main battery.
There have been a few cars with unusual issues purely because the voltage on the battery was too low.
Might be worthwhile checking the battery before you spend 100s.
Try the search tolp right.

There have been many many cars where the alarm doesnt sound.
Not all required the alarm replacement.
Some simply werent connected properly from the factory.
