Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone here has put a tiny amp in the glove box to power the speakers, and can recommend one? I've already got an amp in the boot with a subwoofer, but I was told it's not capable of running speakers as well. I can't afford a Double Din so hoping this would be a cheaper alternative.

Hi Leesmith, just a alternative suggestion but have you considered the passenger footwell underneath the carpet to enable a stealth install. I decided to put my amp in that position as I really wanted be able to still use my car to it's full potential when I finally manage to go camping as I need lots of boot space. My amp is the FLI FL900 Amplifier and I am really pleased with it. I found it quite a compact size to fit in the floor. Anyway hope you have success what ever you decide to do.

Hi Pete

Could you take a picture of where yours is? I don't think the passenger would be happy resting their foot on an amp, even if it is beneath the carpet?

Hi Lee, sorry for the late reply. Ha ha! well in malsterl that's funny that's why I installed it to keep passenger's feet warm. Not;).

I have tried my best to find a pic but I am sorry I have none available at mo and it's difficult to take a pic at the moment as my car is jacked up. As I am applying lacquer to my brake calipers.

I hope my description will help in some way but I will try to explain how I set it up. I shaped some industrial polystyrene to shape in place of the existing carpet type material under the top part of the carpet. This is the slanted part of the footwell. I then replaced this with the industrial polystyrene which I wrapped with Vibe Sound Deadening Material. This sound deadening material has a shiny top side which is also good at keeping things a bit cooler. I made sure this was below the amp and the polystyrene as well. I also made sure that the industrial polystyrene has cut holes at the top above the amp to filter the heat towards the end of the carpet and towards the top of the footwell. If I can eventually get a pic I will but I suppose it's only worth doing if you are someone who does not want to keep making adjustments to the amp. As I set it up for people to really not know it is under the carpet so I put the floor back as if it was original so looks untouched. Hope this helps in someway sorry for long description. :D
