Hi Guys,

Long time member but a very little posts from me in the years, however that may be about to change.

Had my service yesterday on my Honda Civic TypeR FN2 at a Honda dealer and it came back that I needed to replace my Ancilliary Drive Belt, however I haven't got a clue what this is.

Any ideas on what this is, if it is easy to replace and if it goes, what the repercussion would be?

Thanks very much

Ah ha. That's what they used to call the fan belt in the olden days when it drove the fan etc.

It looks pretty busy down there Flashy, was it a bleeding knuckle job or fairly easy. Is there a scheduled interval when one should be done?

Wrench and spanner onto the tensioner pulley, then lift the belt off. The tension is quite high so be careful. Access panel down by the crank to loop it at the bottom. Take a photo so you can put it back correctly :laugh2:

Do you not need to remove any Engine Mount?

Not on my car, no. You can see the engine mount is above/behind the belt.

Thanks for this. Might give it a go myself, saves the £160 that Honda want to charge.
