Hi all,

I've been scouring the forums for hours trying to make sure I've not missed anything, have searched the wiki but I can't find anything that shows what I'm after.

I used to have a 99 civic sport and I've upgraded to a 07 civic SE, however I'm seeing a lack of AUX input (in person and online!). So I'm looking up how to install one but everything I'm seeing will give you an AUX cable (to plug into your phone, ipod etc).

I don't need the cable, I just want the port - I've got a Belkin Bluetooth kit that plugs into an AUX port and I'd really like to keep it as I use my phone for satnav etc and it means I can still have a hands free kit as well as music and still be able to place it where ever I want without being restricted by cable length or plugging it in all the time (I use an NFC tag on the dash, swipe my phone over it whenever I enter or leave the car to connect or disconnect from the kit) it also lets me pause/skip/answer/hang up with just one button without needing to touch my phone which is super handy.

But is this even possible? All the kits I'm seeing and advice I'm reading is to get a AUX cable, not a port.

All and any words of wisdom welcome! Thanks!

I dont think there is an Aux port of any sort on the pre-facelift Civic. There could be one on an EX model but there isnt one on an ES so I doubt there is one on an SE.

Yeah I know there isn't one on my model, what I'm after is if there is a kit I can add that gives me a port and not the cable as I already have the cable. :)

i don't think you can get just the port... Most of them come with AUX/USB cables. i was after something for my 2008 Civic. could not find anything. not sure if something is out there now.

There are double dins with aux ports on them - probably your best bet.
Sorry, bit of a novice, what's a "double din"?

I think it's a connects2 adapter to get an aux in port I'm afraid. I've got this one installed and it emulates a CD changer giving you an analogue input with an RCA connector
This one doesn't have a port as far as I could tell, I looked into it pretty heavily and the conclusion was that it either didn't have one, or it didn't come into the cockpit enough for me to plug into. The other option with this was to get a male to male extension to bring it forward?

A double din is basically a touch screen head unit. Most new cars today have them fitted as standard.

They are one of the best upgrades you can do for your car. Plug in iPod or Bluetooth with phone, sat nav, reverse camera, DVD etc.

Tons of threads here on them and plenty of guides on how to fit them.

Highly highly recommended!

double din

i too have fitted a double din, makes for a much better driving experience,

i can answer call via handsfree/bluetooth, which comes in use.

i can play music from the blueooth or usb port.

most double dins come with a dab now if you pay for it.

and you get the added bonus of satnav in a double din.

i didn go for a screen double din, as i have no use for it. id have used my phone for maps anyways.

and as such use the headunit for the tweeters in the doors and run and amplifier and subwoofer from the unit. i have 4 speakers connected to the amp seperate from the head unit.

makes a massive difference in sound quality.

plus with usb, i have a 32gb mini usb that doesnt really protrude out of the unit, and can hold thousands of songs. :)
