Please see the following procedure that should be carried out after fitting your new battery

• 1 – Make sure all electrical items (the A/C, the audio, the lights, etc.) are off.
• 2 – Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
• 3 – Turn the vehicle to the ACC mode.
• 4 – Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
• 5 – Start the engine, and let it idle for 1 minute or more.
• 6 – Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
• 7 – Repeat steps 2 through 6 four times or more.
• NOTE: The internal resistance of a 12 volt battery may not be updated if the engine starts up immediately from the OFF (LOCK) mode without going through the ACCESSORY mode and ON mode.
• 8 – Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Saw this on Cox's site when looking at batteries. I was wondering if this procedure should/must be followed when replacing the battery after charging.

Never done quite that but if Cox a Honda supplier say so I would not dispute it and tanks for bringing it up for future reference.

Never done anything of the like.

Take old battery out
Put new battery in
Start car to check all is well
Drop bonnet
Lock car until next needed
