Hi all, had my 2.2 just under 18 months and feeling its time for a remap.

Who in your opinions (from experience or from knowing someone who's had a remap) are the best people to get the remap done at. currently thinking of the 190bhp (ish) mark.

My car is bog standard now but could be tempted to part with a bit more cash if it'll make the gains better. FMIC or something like that!!

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Thinking of much the same thing. Looking for about 180bhp.

Had my last remap at Rolling Road Tuning Centre, in Bradford.
That car was a 2L deisel Qashqai, and a moderate remap gave me 186bhp.
I had it tuned for acceleration rather than top speed.
Being the 4x4 variant, wheelspin was not so much of a problem.
Opened a few eyes at the traffic light grand prix, and was fun to drive.

For me, it's either Celtic or Premier Tuning. Had both and they do a superb job.

On here and TypeAccord I've seen good reports for both Celtic and Premier Tuning/Elite Remaps.

Budget an extra grand for the new clutch you'll probably need soon after having the remap.

Have been running a Elite Rolling Road custom tune for 18mth+ now. When the ERG delete map update was put on it made a noticeable improvement to part throttle response, smoothness and it got better as time went on as the gunge cleared away.
Excellent maps, just need a trip to CG Motorsport as well!

I had a Premier tuned 2.2 for about 18 months and loved it. Switched about half way through from the standard stage 1 map to the EGR delete stage 1, and it improved throttle response quite a bit. Was running around 180bhp, and the car shifted very well. No smoke, no problems, and my standard clutch held up (though I wouldn't count on that).

Fahad is a great guy to deal with too. Can't speak for any of the other remap companies as I've never used them.

Yeah I'm sure Fahad is based in Bradford, from what I remember.

I went to Halifax to get a remap from him.

Hi

Check SP Tuning company. I had Celtic Tuning map before that map and I am very happy with SP map. This is egr off map.

Cheers for the replies.

Will probably go for an egr delete remap. just gotta decide if i've got the cash for a FMIC. Will probably get it done by Fahad. closest recommended tuner and can get a nice drive out of the map to see the difference.:D

You won't be disappointed with the Stage 2 EGR delete! Fahad is a top bloke also.

Celtic Stage 2 remap EGR ON ! - £200 with forum discount @ their base in Cornwall, discount covered my diesel !

You'll need an upgraded clutch, though !

Stage 1 is an option, but why have a half pint when you can get a full one ! ;)

I had the Stage 1 and previously they did 2 VWs for me - great maps.

Was tempted by a Celtic stage 2 but was keen to get rid of the EGR, the car is so much smoother.

Engine does run @ higher temps with EGR off, Steven, not sure what the long term implications of that are...

I agree it does run at higher temps and unsure of the implications, if any. However, I'm now at 78K and the car is running superb. I guess time will tell!

The engine will run at the same temp as the EGR off is for the ecu your not taking the EGR off it still in use.
Premier tunning as saod above speak to fahad best to drop an email as hes not on here all the time.
The stage 2 EGR delete will give you 204bhp which is the same as celtic tunning stage BUT its much cheaper than celtic and fahad throws in a test to see how healthy your car is free which is good.
Youll need an uprated clutch and you may aswell change the DMF to SMF
For this speak to CG motosports as they offer the SMF and 8 paddle or 6paddle clutch for 750 plus 10 quid postage or they do a deal if you travel up to leeds theyll fit it for you at discount
