Ok so I've just put an order in for some pro race, asked them for an et38 for now, as @vti444 and another lad have et38 on 8j, but in 17".

But looking at the willtheyfit page, it suggests it'd be OEM plus 23.4mm extra poke. I've had OEM with 15/20 spacers on before and was ok, and seems to be the preferred fitment, so will et38 scrub on the front a lot?

You possibly could be OK with 38 but might be very tight to the arch if lowered. I made a note the ET45 and possibly 40 was best for the FN2 but will be interest to see how yours look. The further out without rubbing the better I think.

Yeah I'm on eibachs. Might up it to 43 so it's equivalent to a 20mm spacer all round

I have 18 x 8.5 ET 45, so slightly wider wheel. but higher offset, and it tells me I'm OEM plus 29mm poke. I'm using OEM tyre size which has a little stretch and 1.5 camber which helps limit rubbing.

I got a tiny bit of rubbing at slow speeds over very large dip and bumps. That was on 15mm lowering springs. Since fitting coilovers I get no rubbing whatsoever.

8.5j and Et45 suggests 22.7mm poke from OEM.

I think I'll defo have to go up to at least et40.

Will They Fit says OEM existing is 33.9mm, and mine is 63mm poke = 29.1mm.

Am I reading that right?

Ha, oh god it's confusing isn't it.

I put in the OEM fitment (225/40/18 tyres, et55 18 x 7.5j and then the same but with 18 x 8.5j et45) and the diagram shows it to have 22.7mm more poke

Et42 is the sweet spot on an 8j.

My 8x18 1.2s on the FN2 were et40. Spot on with no issues. Have a look back on my mods thread there will be pics of them when they were first fitted. Don’t ask me what page mind.
Will do nice one. What suspension?

Iirc it was initially on Eibach springs (ABP version), followed by Meister R coil overs.
Oh right the super low eibachs. And it never caught on full lock or bumps? Cool.

Pushing hard on a track day occasionally I’d catch but very rare. You shouldn’t get any issues on road whatsoever.

Brilliant thanks a lot

Should get these from Rimstock in about 4 months, ha. Last set for the ep3 took that long.

When I did Oulton and Cadwell I was 18x8 pro race 1.2 before moving to 17. Sadly I can't remember the et but sure were around 42 no issues

I know why now, I had the OEM as a 7j, not a 7.5 :grin2:

I always thought the Fn2 struggled with anything over 20mm further out on the fronts, 38 will give 23.4mm and also 10.7mm further away from the hub. 42 will give 19.4mm and 6.7mm respectively.

I've ordered et42 now.

Cba with any rubbing or catching. Want it oem+

Good thing when ordering direct is correct centre bore and choice of any offset, width and colour. No need for spigots or spacers
