So after a bit of hassle with a salesman etc, I picked my CTR up on Monday.

Really chuffed with the car 10k on the clock when i left the dealers.

Coming from the "derv side" and "test driving" the CTR this week i thought i`d do a bit of comparing.

Obviously I`m going to miss the great mpg i had with my Type S (50 mpg average), but after driving to work all week with the journey being 90% motorway i averaged 40 mpg on the type R.(sticking to speed limits)

The handling is a lot better, when throwing the CTS into a corner i always felt the weight of the diesel engine wanted to pull me all over the road.

I loved the smoothness of the acceleration of the 2.2, i`ve read on other threads people moaning about turbo lag but i think it`s really getting to know what gear you should be in for what you want the car to do.

The CTR feels "twitchy" in 1st and 2nd gears but once you have the car going its got a nice aggressive grunt and pulls like mad.

Personally i think a mapped 2.2 would give the CTR a run for its money:worms:

So all you guy`s out there that have never drove a "tractor" don`t knock it.

Here`s a few pics of my old CTS and my new R.

Excuse the quality of my pics of my new car, as the rest of the country gets a heatwave the west of Scotland gets the usual wet weather.

Car looks great.

Had a Fiesta tractor before the CTR and hated it. Give me petrol & VTEC any day.:)

Planning any mods?
Have you ever drove a civic tractor though??:)

No mods planned yet just want to leave it as is at the moment.

The new car looks great.

I have managed 47 MPG from my CTR over 100ish miles. I was fairly boring but goes to show decent economy is possible in a CTR. :D

CTR looking great dude. Your CTS was a great looking car too. So envy you right now. I want more power, but limited with a 1.8 CTS. Maybe next year i'll upgrade!
