I want to fit a blue flashing led just above the radio as i dont like the red alarm warning light (not bright enough)
question is can i just wire one into the car without worrying about the battery:confused:

Any standard 3/5/8mm LED would be fine.

LED's hardly use any power so it'd not manage to drain a car battery.

is there a wire that only works when the car is locked that i can tap into to get this wired in ,so it would only work (FLASH) when the car is locked
I would like to mount them in the door if poss:confused:

The wire that feeds the red 'alarm armed' LED in the dash perhaps.... Finding it and splicing into it would be difficult though.

Don't know why I didn't think of this!

Taking the dash out would be a chore and splicing into a standard 'dome' LED would be easy... but if the current LED is SMD so you would need to join the new wire to the PCB - I'd not want to risk soldering the cluster.
