Hi
My boot opens very slowly, doesn't open all the way without me pushing it upwards. I assume this is down to the damper struts (or whatever they are) on either side of the boot.
It looks like there are just a few bolts holding them on. Does anyone know if there's an easy fix or wether they just want replacing

Thanks

Easy job.

Just remember the tailgate is heavy once one of the struts is removed so it's good to have someone holding it when you remove the old ones.

Just a hint, if you have fitted a spoiler, then it would be a good idea to get some stronger struts, as the lid is heavier, there are a tread about new struts for spoiler fitted for non type R. I used that to get some from Ebay, cheap.

Cheers guys, this was going to be an 'eventually when I get round to it' fix, although having just discovered how cheap they are and how easy the are installed I've just ordered a pair
Thanks

Mercedes ML between 95-02 (I think!!!) Ones fit, and are supposed to be better suited to the job. Im sure someone else can confirm!
they were less than £15 on the bay.

Hope this helps! I have the same issue!
